We have started a new tradition. The older two kids are making breakfast on our Sabbath! They made baked oatmeal one day. While it’s more work for the parents right now, it will pay off one day. After almost a year away from Bangladesh, it’s hard to remember what we ate here. We certainly didn’t eat the green peppers, kale, and cheese that we were feasting on in the US! But here’s a good dinner — bread made by Amina, greens with baked eggplant with my ginger salad dressing, and potatoes with some meaty gravy. Some day I have to be like Lorina and write down a meal list. Figuring out what to cook every day is the hardest part.
Another friend of mine had a baby while I was away. This little Aslan came only two weeks before O. Isn’t he adorable? It was so much fun to sit together and change diapers and nurse and swap stories. Made me think of good times with Lisa in Harrisonburg. The only problem with friends having babies is that it’s hard for them to get the energy/time to visit. So phone calls have to suffice.
